Greenville Sale Reminders

September 5, 2008

The Sav-Mor Sidewalk Sale is this Saturday at 9 a.m.  Read more about it here. If you’re needing children’s clothing, Trunk Treasures (consignment sale) is having their semi-annual Children’s Clothing and Accessories Sale beginning Friday, September 4, 10:00a.m. (Markdown sale begins Saturday, September 13.)  Read about it here. Looking for inexpensive thrift clothing in Greenville?  Try Miracle Hill Ministries thrift stores.  I’ve found their clothes to be generally less expensive than Goodwill (with the exception of buying by the pound) and the selection is much better.  There is also a $1 rack, and I’ve found some very nice, quality clothing there in the past. .

Bargain Bread: $5 for a Cartload and Leftover Bread Uses

July 25, 2008

Thanks to Julie’s comment and post, I learned about a discount bakery that sells bread items by the cartload. The discount bakery sells this bread for $5 for a cart!  I didn’t realize quite how much bread it was, but we estimated that at a low cost, it would be at least $100 worth of bread.  I was a little disappointed that I didn’t get any bagels or very many whole wheat items, but perhaps that depends on what day you go.  The bakery mentioned that the bread truck comes every day except Wednesday. So, what did I do with it and what else can be done with leftover bread?

Lots of Free Taco Bell in Greenville

July 12, 2008

If you like Taco Bell and want an inexpensive date night now through August 5, Taco Bell might be the place for you to go!  With each purchase you make at Taco Bell, you’ll receive a meal ticket with a special code on the back.  Download the Taco Bell Meal Ticket console, and enter in your code.  Each time, you’ll win a coupon for a free meal item, in addition to being entered to win a trip to Jamaica or an LCD TV. EVERY ticket is a winner! So far we’ve won several drinks, Frutista freezes, and Crunchy Beef Tacos (they’ve given us more than one ticket several times).  And I only paid for the original item–one taco. We rarely eat out, so this is a fun little treat for us for the next month or so.  This is valid only in the Greenville, SC area, and all the coupons we’ve “won” are valid through August 31, 2008. (HT: Bargain Banana) .

fUN (free) aCtiviTies tO Do in gREenVillE

June 30, 2008

Here are 4 free activities to do in Greenville: (There are many more, but these are some of my favorites!) 1. Visit to Falls Park/Reedy River Falls Park is definitely one of Greenville’s finest features. Located in the heart of Greenville, it is truly the focal point of the downtown area. The Liberty Bridge is a must see at night, when the lights of the town mingle with the architecture of the suspension bridge and the natural beauty of the Reedy River to make an unforgettable image. Often, there are plays going on in the grassy areas and outdoor theaters.
